Google Labs announced today a new experimental AI agent focused on productivity. Called CC, this new assistant aims to help users navigate their daily digital clutter. Built on Gemini models, the system connects directly to your Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Drive accounts, acting as a personalized assistant.
Your Personal Briefing Ready Every Morning
CC’s most notable feature is the summary email it sends to your inbox every morning, titled “Your Day Ahead.” This message not only lists your calendar but also synthesizes your schedule, important tasks, and updates into a single, clear summary. The agent also scans the vast web, enabling it to understand external factors that could affect your day.
The AI agent can remind you to prepare for an appointment or pay a bill. But its capabilities don’t stop there. Thanks to its abilities, CC can draft emails on your behalf when needed and create calendar links, allowing you to take quick action.
You don’t need a separate application to interact with CC. You can guide the assistant by replying to the daily briefing email it sends you. You can teach it details about yourself, correct information, record ideas, or add to a to-do list. You can also contact the assistant directly by emailing [your username]+cc@gmail.com.
Google also values privacy. You can add CC to an email chain to request a summary; however, it will only respond to you, not to others in the group.
Currently an experimental service under Google Labs, CC is available for early access starting today for individual Google account users in the US and Canada. It’s on a waiting list, with priority given to Google AI Ultra and paid subscribers. This independent experimental service is not currently part of Google Workspace or other Gemini applications.
So, what do you think of this Google CC AI agent that you can entrust your emails and calendar to? Would managing your digital assistant via email be practical? Share your thoughts in the comments!
